Guide - Manage Child Accounts & Users
Objective
Incentify can serve as a downstream credits and incentives management system from your internal project/client engagement management system. If this is the case, it is often necessary for that internal system to integrate with Incentify to facilitate automated synching of subsidiary/client accounts and users to avoid double entry and maintain strict user access (IAM) policies.
Key Portfolio Resources:
- Child Accounts
- Users
Steps to Implement
Step 1 - Manage Child Accounts
If you have a Parent/Child account architecture, then you may want to dynamically create/update Child Accounts. A common use case is an advisor creating/updating client accounts on Incentify where each client has an individual Child Account (so that Client users can login to that account to collaborate on their incentive portfolio).
- POST an Account to Accounts - Create/Update
- This endpoint supports the ability to update and archive ("de-activate") a Child Account
Step 2 - Manage Users and their Access, Permissions and Status
Users can be created/updated, including their access levels.
- POST a User to Users - Create/Update
- Include an access rule for each Account the user has access to:
- Account Access
- Permission Group
- Status (active/archived)
Step 3 - Recommended Next Steps
Now that you are systematically managing Accounts, Users and Access - we recommend you also automate the synching of the Credits and Incentives Portfolio via the Incentify API.
